This is my full set up, sometimes i use an auxillary pork pie 12 inch snare. I rarley bring the entire kit when jamming with bands, i feel like its too much, but it gives me decisions for different styles of music. I can make 3 or 4 kits out of this. The Kit is a gretsch catalina. All zildjian cymbals the ride is circa 70's. The snare is a pork pie piglite. In the future I plan on upgrading to a pork pie kit but for now this kit works. I decided to save some money by buying a cheaper kit and being able to invest in great hardware and cymbals. I'm glad because if i had invested in a pork pie, you'd be looking at all pacific hardware with B8 cymbals =p Sorry about the messy room, i just moved in and the first things i brought over were the kit and the clothing!

You ever use that big floor tom as a bass drum? It would probably be great for the smaller gigs. How do you like that crash of doom?

I have thought about using the 16x18 as a bass drum. I need to get a riser and some proper heads. I have no idea what heads to put on it. As the "oriental crash o' doom" goes I love it. I actually keep it that far to the left because it can double as a dark trashy ride. It also works great with mallets for swells. Its not super sensitive you kind of have to lay into it but it creates some awsome sounds. i actually picked mine up at a pawn shop for like a 100 bucks, it was sittin in the window, go figure.
