Here's an example of a nice, rare, 17" 50s Avedis Zildjian crash cymbal featuring the Block Zildjian large stamp as named by Bill Hartrick, "Type I large stamp. This hand hammering and the taper curves down slightly at the edges. The top of the bell is slightly flat, and it has the small 7/16" hole (slightly keyholed). It sounds great! You can ride on it and still hear the stick meet the cymbal, but it is primarily a crash cymbal. It has that distinctive Avedis crash sound, good cutting power nice complex wash. Medium thin, by 50s standards, probably thin by modern standards.

The bell is really more round than flat (typical for some of the older crashes), it is only flat on area immediately surrounding the hole.
