    SOLD: Rogers Powertone - COB

SOLD - 5x14" Rogers Powertone COB. This is a Dayton era drum. The drum sounds great and the chrome is in great shape other than some flaking on the inside of the top hoop. SOLD!!!

I have two of those. Great drums. Beautiful beefy rock snare. Lots of headroom. Still plenty sensitive.

Steal alert! I sell alot of stuff and try new stuff, but I have had one of these for over 15 years. And kept it! It cracks the backbeats as needed. Combat worthy. And, as Mr Alan says, still sensitive too, for the smokey, late night, cool jazz sessions!

Is this a 10-lug? What's the difference between this drum and the Supra? Just curious.

this is an 8 lug drum. i have both a supra (brass + brass hoops) and this powertone. the supra is lower pitched and drier to my ears. the powertone i've found to be louder, brighter, and a little ringy. i have found it more enjoyable to play brushes on it than the supra but the supra for sticks. the drum is tuned up pretty high and can really crack. hope that helps.

I think you just wrote a perfect comparison. Both classic snare drums; just a matter of taste. I just played a little guitar, bass, drums Sunday Brunch trio gig today with my COB Powertone. For me it is the perfect all around, versatile snare drum. Alan uses one too. Guys, if you have never played one of these, treat yourself to this one. Plays just as good as the boootique-ie drums!
