I have that same BD (though the badge is long gone) in tortoise shell wrap. Got it off CL for $35 and it came mounted on a wood riser. Once tuned, it works great in small situations.
Zero back pain involved.

Thats good to know,,,being the Tama/Star freak I am, I didn,t realize this type of drum was manufactured and thought for a while it was a custom type thing. Thanks to you I know it was probably a reg. factory offering. I should have bid on it,,, it went for just over what you paid for yours,,,but I been spending to much on cymbals,,*Dardrum Bad*

Nice! I have a 20 13 16 Star Stencil kit in a funky wrap. Thinking about cannibalizing the 16 like this, too. Lots of low end punch, would work well.
