    Who is the best all around drummer?

    Which drummers do you admire for being able to play in any musical context?

    In my opinion it's Gadd, of course, but I also think Tommy Igoe is as well. Steve Smith impresses me too ... I've seen clips of him playing through the history of the US beat and he did a credible job on a number of genres and period music.

    I reckon Peter Erskine does a great job in a number of different styles.

    I never thought about him cutting across styles. Makes sense though when I think of some of the recordings I've heard him on.
