Great drum! I've got a similar one, only mine has nob hoops, not cob.

Yes, not unlikely to find a drum like that for less. (If you are not in a hurry)

except for the nickle (or chrome) (over brass) hoop Legacy Mahogany Ludwig snares I think are about the same.
Think Pork Pie makes something similar. Yamaha I think also..

any of those -early 70s, 60s, to 50s wood snares have it (even with the maple instead of mahogany.

I heard/read somewhere that in the 40s/50s(?) wood from older trees was used (maybe it is not allowed anymore?). And the wood has aged and resonated for a few decades, whatever that's good for.

    yea that's likely all true..

    I've a 60's 6L 5x14
    and a 50s WFL 6.5 6L.

The 5x14 has been on the stand for months.
the nickle (or chrome if you have it) brass hoops are as melodic as _____filin the blank.
    Just heavenly
    and amzing rimshots

Hard to imagine there isn't a difference. The hoops and old wood would get my money first. I'm actually looking myself. The 6 lug is intriguing.
