Forums Still in Flux

Just to keep everyone updated.
Spent all morning trying to reindex the website for the search feature. It takes ALL DAY. Got about 380,000 words in about 8 hours and the power goes out!
So not ALL words are indexed and I decided to turn the forums back on for a bit. And see what blows up.

Alright, in a bid to assist the consolidation of ePrey related postings, sooth the nerves of those who can't stand them, and yet not forgetting the gearwhores, students on a shoestring who don't trawl eFlay as much.

Maybe we don't need a whole new section, but just a dedicated thread might do, since usually only the latest posts matter.

Presenting the [eBay] Official Drum/Snare 'Steal' Thread.

    Post away.

Edit: Feel free to throw in stuff from craigslist or the mom-n-pop two blocks from you too.

Here are a few interesting ones just listed: Wuhan 13" power piccolo snare drum
This seller has some good stuff listed including vintage Slingerland and Leedy snare drums.

      Cool thread idea.

Surely that Wuhan is bronze and not brass like the seller states.

I think it is brass. I've seen stainless steel and brass snare drums from Wuhan. I am sure they have bronze models though.

6.5x14 Supra, new with bag at an excellent BIN and also accepting best offers. There is a wait for these at most retailers: http://cgi.ebay.com/New-Ludwig-LM402...QQcmdZViewItem

Hmm, looks dark like bronze, and you would think a cymbal company would have that in easier supply than brass.

I'd be interested to hear from anyone who has played one of these, especially if their snares have the same price to quality ratio as their cymbals.

I don't know much about GMS, expect that they make nice drums and that they're usually pretty expensive.

This seems like a good price. I'm assuming it's maple.

Edit: Nevermind, I see the seller has made up for the price by charging $40 shipping.

I hate it when they do that. Especially when they are located near the middle of the country (east to west) where it should not cost more than $20 to ship it to anywhere in the lower 48.

Don't usually see this with a steel shell. Goes for $299 in stores.

                      Hello,

I have a Pearl Ultracast black Aluminum snare drum. it is 6.5X14 and almost new. It was used for about 1 month on a tour and that is all. The drum is in perfect condition. It is 3mm thick making it fairly heavey and the thickest aluminum snare on the market giving it the crack of a steel snare and the warmth of wood because aluminum is a fairly soft metal. Great for in the studio and live. This drum sells for $470 new on MusiciansFriend, I am asking $370!!

I also have a Pearl Sensitone Aluminum snare for $199.

Please contact me by e-mail if you are interested.

                      thanks!

Less than that I'd bet..Even with the cost of a "new" box and materials....I also never like getting ripped off for petty shipping chgs....I'd rather pass on it or just let the guy raise his price and do Actual shipping charges....It also shows a glimpse of the character of the seller I think.

Probably his way of saving a few cents on listing fees...

Between Paypal and listing (and final value) fees, sellers get eaten alive. That is the reason I am looking to craigslist to sell off my gear. No listing fees, the buyers can pay with cash and I don't have to worry about packaging. An added bonus is when they come over to get one thing I can maybe talk them into other shit as well
