Pretty cool set up. Fair price as well.

very unique. Corder used both Keller and Jasper shells...though I'm not sure if they started taht way and this should be an earlier drum for them because of the ball mount BD/tom mount.

Nice. But I'm pretty sure I saw that very set sell a few months ago for a lttle more than half that. From what I've seen that seller is the mark up king. He's got alot of great stuff, but it's really expensive.

You're OCD72. Everything is overpriced from this guy, although I think is in range for the set up. The next iteration of "Fibes" was when Tommy Robertson/Tommy's Drums bought the company from Don Corder. Probably great sounding drums.

Don't forget that Darwin was inbetween Corder and the rebirth of Fibes. I have a Darwin kit and they are great drums. They have Jasper shells and just sing. It's too bad that the Fibes/Corder/Darwin/Fibes lineage gets such little regard as top quality drums. They are great. I think that everyone involved in all of these companies has kept very high standards in the quality of the drums.

I emailed this guy and said if he has documentation that the shells are jasper I'd buy it immediatetly. No reply.

Just curious... How would one obtain documentation that the shells are jasper shells?

I have a Corder jazz set in sizes 14x18, 8x12, 14x14 with a 4.5x14 SD. They are finished in white marine pearl and sound great. This is my second set of Corder drums. Excellent drums for jazz!

The dude claims they're Jasper. SInce Corder made drums with jasper or Keller, if he's going to claim they're Jasper, he should be able to back it up.

Are they the red ones that have been for sale for the last 10 months for something like $1150.00 with matching snare? If so they were super cheap for ages, they were supposedly Jasper.

You can see the gum plies between the maple plies at the edge of a jasper maple shell.

Ask for a pic of the edge if you want documentation.

They also smell unique, but that's lot harder to document over the internet.

I hear a lot of fiberglass and acrylic drum owners are into shell sniffing. Hey, whatever smokes your tires. :whistling

My fiberglass shells do smell different from my wood ones, and I notice it as soon as I take a drum head off. I doubt I could pick the presence or absence of a gum ply unless it was juicyfruit. :yay:

I've bought a thing or two from this guy. Nothing but great transactions.

Thing is, you have to wait for him to run things 3 or 4 times, before they get down to reasonable prices.
