this week. I'll be there Wednesday with cymbalguy...he's going to distract Paul, I'm going to snatch the 22" Dark Paiste!

Great gig Wednesday night by Paul and the EBB, featuring three (count em') THREE electric guitars ( Ben Monder on one), tenor, alto, bass (playing an amped acoustic "guitar bass") and drums...Lots of terrific, angular takes on Monk and Mingus (Goodbye Pork Pie Hat!)included...Paul is perhaps the greatest "minimalist" drummer on the planet; reminds me of a graceful boxer, always jabbing, bobbing and weaving around the music, playing just the right thing for the music at just the right time...He was using the famous 22" SC Dark ride, the 20" rivited old A with a chunk out of it, and what looked loke medium to heavy 602 hats and the natural maple Gretsch square badge kit...Well worth catching should they come to your town!

PS...We failed to grab the cymbal! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Cymbalguy didn't hit Paul hard enough on the head to pry that dark ride from his fingers!

uh-oh. His A has developed a Chunkout? He may need remedial 'cymbalholic' help soon , for a replacement..

It looked like one of Nodar's patented edge crack repair jobs to me...I had a cracked old 20" A awhile back that I asked Nodar to fix, and Paul's repair looked identical to the one Nodar performed on that cymbal...

ohh. 'ol Nodar can be a bit hamfisted with those repairs don't ya think? Anything with screws and nuts is a bit overboard . He's not the only cymbal mechanic, don't you agree?

No nuts and bolts on this one, Joe, just a nice smooth 1" wave-like indent in the edge! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yes I figured so being you said where it was. His Cup area repairs are Frankenstonian.
